If the idea of making some extra cash in your spare time sounds appealing to you, you may want to consider online surveys. These surveys are fast and simple to take and while each one typically pays a few dollars, that money can really add up if you take enough of them.
If you want to get paid to do online surveys, you should start by getting yourself a fresh email account just for your survey taking. This is a great way to stay organized and keep your personal emails separate from your “work” emails. Many services offer free email accounts, personally I like Gmail the best.
Once you have your email ready to go, it’s time to sign up with the market research companies that provide the paid surveys. You will notice at this point that finding legitimate paid survey companies is by far the hardest part of the job.
What I did when starting out was join one of the paid survey databases (my first choice was Make Money Taking Surveys). This was because after trying to find these companies myself in Google, I noticed that many were worthless scams and I was spending a whole bunch of time on trying to find good companies to sign up for. It seemed like a good trade, spend a few bucks and cut to the chase I am happy that I chose that route and out of curiosity have since joined several other paid survey databases (Survey Scout, Paid Surveys Etc) and have been happy with them as well.
So next, I joined up with the companies in the database. It took several hours just to make it through the first 20 or so companies but after about a month of joining, I was registered with over 150 market research firms. This is when the real magic happened. It does take a lot of companies to get a decent number of paid surveys sent to you and this is how you really get paid to do online surveys - in volume.
These days, I just check my paid survey email account daily and take the new surveys that come in. On any given day, I’ll have anywhere from one survey to ten or more waiting for me. Some I don’t qualify for, but its no big deal - I just move on to the next one.
Now, I’ll tell you upfront that paid surveys have NOT made me rich. But, I do get a tidy stack of checks each month for my opinions that at least covers my car payment, so I’m happy as a clam. The bank teller who has to sort my stack of checks not so much, lol. Either way, paid surveys are for real, but it takes a lot of companies to see any real results. Also, you have to check your paid survey mail regularly as some surveys expire if you wait too long to respond.
I hope my experiences help you get started with getting paid to do online surveys. Good luck with your paid survey adventure!
